Terms of Service - Linux Game Bench

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using Linux Game Bench, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

2. User Content & Ownership

2.1 Benchmark Data

By uploading benchmarks to Linux Game Bench, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute this data. This includes:

FPS and frametime data
Hardware information (GPU, CPU, RAM, etc.)
System configuration (OS, kernel, drivers)
Game settings and resolution

Important: Benchmark data may remain on the platform even after account deletion. When you delete your account, your benchmarks are anonymized but preserved to maintain the integrity of our database.

2.2 Screenshots

Screenshots you upload must be directly related to gaming content. By uploading screenshots, you confirm that:

You have the right to share these images
The images show video game content only
No personal photos, documents, or non-gaming content

Screenshots are checked by AI and may be manually reviewed. Inappropriate content will be removed.

2.3 Comments

Comments you post are your responsibility. We reserve the right to remove any comments at our discretion.

3. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in account termination:

Hate speech - Content that promotes hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other characteristics
Harassment - Targeted attacks, bullying, or threats against other users
NSFW content - Pornographic, sexually explicit, or excessively violent content
Illegal content - Content that violates any applicable laws
Spam - Repetitive, promotional, or off-topic content
Impersonation - Pretending to be another person or entity
Manipulation - Fake benchmarks, manipulated data, or misleading information

4. Data Collection & Privacy

4.1 What We Collect

When you use Linux Game Bench, we collect:

Account data: Email address, username, password (hashed)
Benchmark data: Hardware info, game performance metrics, system configuration
Usage data: Page views, feature usage for analytics
Uploaded content: Screenshots, comments

4.2 How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve our service
To display benchmarks and comparisons
To send important notifications (verification emails, password resets)
To detect and prevent abuse

4.3 Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Benchmark data (hardware, performance) is publicly visible by design. Your email address is never shared publicly.

4.4 Data Retention

When you delete your account:

Account data (email, username, password) - permanently deleted
Benchmark data (FPS, hardware specs) - anonymized and preserved for statistical purposes
Screenshots - permanently deleted
Comments - permanently deleted
Messages - permanently deleted
Likes, achievements, saved profiles - permanently deleted

Only anonymous technical benchmark data (FPS, hardware specifications) is retained for statistical purposes. All personal content is permanently deleted.

5. Account Responsibilities

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account (or have parental consent)
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
You must not share your account with others
You are responsible for all activity under your account

6. Service Availability

Linux Game Bench is provided "as is" without warranties. We do not guarantee:

Uninterrupted service availability
Data backup or recovery
Accuracy of benchmark comparisons

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time.

7. Termination & Account Suspension

We reserve the right to terminate, suspend, or restrict your account for violations of these Terms of Service or for behavior that harms our community or service.

Reasons for account termination include, but are not limited to:

Uploading inappropriate or non-gaming screenshots
Posting offensive, harassing, or disrespectful comments
Uploading fake or manipulated benchmark data
Repeated violations of our content guidelines
Behavior that negatively impacts other users or the service

In case of termination, we will notify you via email when possible. You may delete your own account at any time through your account settings.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
